31st Int’l Quran Expo Opens in Tehran

IQNA – The 31st edition of the Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition was officially launched in a ceremony on Wednesday evening, March 20.

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili was the keynote speaker at the ceremony, which began with recitation of verses by renowned qari Hadi Movahed Amin.

In his address, Esmaeili hailed the inauguration of the expo on the first day of spring and in the holy month of Ramadan.

He also welcomed the participation of Quran activists from 25 countries in the international event.

The culture minister further noted that in Ramadan, 30 other Quran exhibition have been mounted or will be mounted in 30 provinces of the country.

He added that the ministry has made extensive efforts to enhance the Quranic atmosphere of the society in the blessed month.

The ministry plans to promote Quran reading, recitation, and memorization and spread Quranic concepts in the life of all people in the country, he went on to say.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Esmaeili referred to the resistance of the people of the Gaza Strip against the Israeli regime and, citing verses from the Quran, underlined the divine pledge to help those who remain steadfast in confronting oppression and injustice.

Shobeyr Firouzian, the culture ministry’s Quran and Etrat deputy and the head of the exhibition, also addressed the ceremony, elaborating on different aspects and features of this year’s exhibition.  

The Tehran International Quran Exhibition is annually organized by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the holy month of Ramadan.

The exhibition is aimed at promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.

It showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.
